On my second trip to Utila, I decided to go beyond the landscapes and street scenes in my photography. I added some portraits to the mix. The people I met were very nice to me. They would stop and talk to me as I walked. They would tell me about their lives.  

There are two populations on the island. The locals and the divers. I photographed both. I did not do an extensive survey by any means. For the most part the locals would just see me with my camera and talk with me. Sometimes we could not talk much because of a language barrier. Other times I would have long conversations. Sometimes they would ask to be photographed. Other times I would ask them if I could photograph them.  

The divers come from all over the world. There are people from Austria, Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Canada, the USA and other places represented here. I look forward to expanding on this work during next year's trip.
